Words From Your Pastor June 26, 2020
A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR
The Fourth of July, 2020
will be like no other in our communities – no fireworks, parades, etc. as our country continues to deal with the many protests afflicting our cities, an accumulation of the centuries of injustices visited upon our black citizens. This Fourth, let us affirm with them that “black lives do matter” and the truth we’re finally acknowledging that with no justice there is no peace. So, dear God, bless our people, all peoples, with your justice.
I recently received the following note from a parishioner with a quote from one of my favorite authors:
I’m learning to enjoy our isolated life style. Sewing every day, finished ten baby quilts, fifty little wallets, 86 baby bibs, face masks and 100 outfits for 18 inch dolls! I’ve been traveling with each book I read…. so much cheaper this way. Hope all of you are well and happy. This being closed off will end. I have some mobility back – it took seven months to eliminate the need for the wheel chair. Just enjoying each day.
“If we walk humbly with our God, He will lead us by the hand to exactly who and what we need, to those people, things, and experiences He has designed and intended for us, and this alone will be the cause of our deep fulfillment and happiness.” –Matthew Kelly

SUPPORTING ST. EDWARD THE CONFESSOR CHURCH
We are so blessed to have such faithful and supportive parishioners. During this crisis, St. Edward the Confessor will continue to support our devoted employees and hard-working vendors. If you are able during this time, please consider continuing your financial support of our parish so that we can continue supporting our employees and many small business vendors that need to be paid on a timely basis.
2020 BISHOPS ANNUAL APPEAL
“Living the Joy of the Gospel,” the theme of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, inspires us, as people of faith, to share joyfully the Good News of Christ to those who most need to feel His love. Works of kindness and assistance, sometimes in the smallest way, can bring about a profound change in a person’s life.
July 11/12 is Commitment Weekend for the Appeal, at which time you can make your gift or pledge. Please make o
